FARMINGTON – Grayce Lillian Glover, 84, of Farmington, died Oct. 15, at Sandy River Nursing Care Center in Farmington.
Born in Farmington on Jan. 4, 1921, Grayce was the daughter of William and Gertrude (DeWolfe) Bishop of East Wilton. She was educated in Wilton schools and graduated from Wilton Academy with the Class of 1939. Grayce attended Bryant and Stratton Business College in Boston before accepting a position with G-2 Air Corps Intelligence in Washington, D.C.
In 1942, Grayce married J. Talbot Lochhead.
After his passing, she later married Watson A. Glover in 1976, who also predeceased her.
Grayce was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as worthy matron in Wilton three times and was grand warder in 1983-84. When she moved to Farmington in 1986, she became a member of the Farmington Chapter of O.E.S., Farmington Historical Society, Monday Club, Amaranth, Mt. Blue Garden Club, and the Red School House Extension. Grayce also served as a volunteer at Franklin Memorial Hospital for several years and at the Farmington Public Library.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah and her husband, Richard Jackman, of Jay; and two granddaughters, Jessica Gammon and Nancy Jackman.
