SOUTH PARIS – Barbara Williams, 68, of Hebron, died Sunday, Oct. 16, at Market Square Health Care Center.

She was born in Rumford on Oct. 5, 1937, the daughter of Leroy and Ruth Noyes Burgess. She graduated from Canton High School in the Class of 1955.

She was devoted to her family and her husband of 49 years, Lester A. Williams Jr. She loved being a grandmother. Her joyous and fun-loving spirit, compassion, understanding and generous nature endeared her to her extended family and friends, especially to her nieces and nephews. She was the “family photographer” and a cook who generously shared her gift.

She is survived by her husband of Hebron; son, Michael Williams of Rockland; son, Bryan Williams of Cape Coral, Fla., and his children, Dominique and Brett; and a brother, Ronald Burgess.

She was predeceased by a son, James L. Williams; and a brother, Robert Burgess.
