TOGUS – David Rupert Young, 64, a lifelong resident of Wilton, died late Saturday evening, Oct. 15, at the Veterans’ Hospital in Togus.

He was born on July 3, 1941, in Wilton, a son of Rupert and Pauline (Daigle) Young. He graduated from Dixfield High School.

Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the paratrooper division.

He was a life member of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay.

He is survived by three sons, Daniel Young and his wife, Aimee Kass, of Stafford Springs, Conn., Michael Young of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Mathew Young of Charlotte, N.C.; a step-daughter, Michele Boucher of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Lance M. and Lindsay R. Young of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Amanda Lawson and Krista Young of Charlotte, N.C.

He was predeceased by his parents.
