LEWISTON – Divorced Americans United, a nonprofit dedicated to helping divorced people across the United States, is accepting applications for grants of up to $1,500 from divorced men and women in the Lewiston-Auburn area who may be in financial need. Anyone who is divorced is welcome to apply.

The group also offers a quarterly newsletter, Divorce Perspectives, with regular columns dealing with the legal, financial and psychological aspects of divorce, plus issues involving single parenting.

It is in the process of setting up state chapters and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in getting involved at the state level. The group also is looking for professionals, such as psychologists, social workers and lawyers, to write columns for Divorce Perspectives.
