I was glad to see Roger Doiron’s op-ed, “One garden salad to go, hold the oil” (Oct. 9), on some of the implications of buying food grown thousands of miles from home. Community-supported agriculture is an alternative. Interested readers might consider becoming a “shareholder” in a local CSA or farm cooperative.
