“Buster Brown” Oct. 26th. Manager Cahn and Grant announce the peer of a road attractions; Neiville B. Raymond’s “Buster Brown,” a cartoon comedy founded on the life of “Buster” and which has been exploited in the funny pages of the New York Herald. Mr. Raymond with his usual liberality has added many new features to the play, the “show girls” are prettier than ever, the scenery gorgeous, costumes lovely, the funny fellow “Buster” and his dog Tige, continue to create no end of amusement and a most enjoyable time can be had by a visit to see “Buster Brown.” The chorus, ballet and state settings will continue to be a feature. The Bargain Matinee will be 25, 50 cents, and at these small prices, should draw a big house.
50 Years Ago, 1955
Science has looked into the eyes of hurricanes and gathered data from which weather experts may find new and better ways to forecast the intensity and perhaps the courses of the great storms. The scientists told a news conference on how they made nine flights into four of this year’s biggest hurricanes in July, August and September. They spend 69½ hours in the storms out of a total of 123 hours in flight. The flights were in an Air Force B29 crammed with more than a million dollars worth of special instruments, including radar and other weather observation equipment.
