AUBURN – The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is offering a Lifeguard Certification Course on the following dates: Nov. 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18. Combined classroom and pool time run about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends, and from approximately 6-9 p.m. on weeknights.

There are several prerequisites for the course including a 500-yard swim and a minimum age of 15. Upon completion of the course, the lifeguard certification and first aid are good for three years, and the CPR expires after one year.
