LEWISTON – Harvey H. Gray, 74, of Lisbon, died Friday, Oct. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Litchfield, on Nov. 6, 1931, the son of Reginald and Minnie Black Gray. He grew up in the Lisbon area and attended Lisbon schools.

After graduating from Lisbon Falls High School, Harvey entered the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He served in the Air Force for 22 years. After retiring from the military, he attended and graduated from the University of New Hampshire . Harvey then became involved in real estate in the Lisbon area with his wife, Velva.

He was an avid reader and loved spending time on the computer. He was known as a “Jack of all trades” who could fix anything. He also enjoyed hiking, and climbed Mount Tumbledown with a close friend every year since 1985.

He is survived by his mother, Minnie Gray, of Lisbon; his wife of 51 years, Velva, of Lisbon; two daughters, Sandy Costello and her husband, Terry, of Lisbon, and Cynthia Gray of Lewiston; a son, David H. Gray of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Barbara White and her husband, Wes, of Lisbon, and Helen Read and her husband, Jimmy, of Bowdoinham; five grandchildren, Diane Milliken, Scott Costello, Cindy Foxe, Marsilla Gray and Harris Gray; as well as five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd Gray.
