FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Players will hold open auditions for Jane Anderson’s play, “The Baby Dance,” from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 25 and 26, in Alumni Theatre at the University of Maine at Farmington. Performance dates are Dec. 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Anderson’s play deals with the human experience of one family’s decision of having to put their unborn child up for adoption and another family faced with any even greater decision concerning the birth of that child.

There are roles for two females, age range from 20 to 30, and three males, age range from 20 to early 30s. The auditions will consist of cold readings from the play, which will be directed by Peter Simmel, theater professor at the University of Maine at Farmington.

People interested in technical positions should attend the auditions and fill out forms. The following positions are open: stage manager (must be available for all rehearsals), scenic designer, lighting designer, makeup designer, light and sound operators, properties master/mistress, stage crew and house manager.
