DURHAM – Elizabeth Marstaller, 98, of Durham, passed away Saturday morning at her home.

She was born on Aug. 20, 1907, in Durham, the daughter of William and Emma Heidenreich Marstaller. She grew up in Durham, and was a graduate of Lisbon High School in the Class of 1925.

Miss Marstaller attended the Maine School of Commerce, Gorham Normal School, Nyack Missionary Training Institute and Gordon College. Elizabeth was a teacher and a missionary for 38 years for the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Colombia, South America. Elizabeth enjoyed teaching, Bible study, gardening, church work and serving others.

Elizabeth is survived by one sister, Ruth Marstaller Taylor of Durham. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and their children.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers, August, Charles, David and Barnabas; and her sisters, Martha, Anna, Lydia, Louisa, Lena, and Esther.
