GRAY – Madeline “Dolly” Zubrod, 94, of Gray, previously of The Highlands in Topsham, died Saturday at her home.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 30, 1911, the daughter of Fred and Mary Sheehy Bennett. She grew up in the Brooklyn where she was raised by her loving grandmother Johanna Sheehy, and later moved to Maine.

Dolly was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Gray. Dolly was married for 70 wonderful years to James J. Zubrod who passed away in 2000.

Dolly enjoyed crafts, arranging flowers, dancing and partying.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Bernard of Lisbon; grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
