FARMINGTON – Agnes F. “Aggie” Crockett, 82, of Wilton, died Sunday, Oct. 23, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington after a long illness.

Born in Skowhegan on Aug. 11, 1923, to Frank and Barbara Fitzmaurice, she was the oldest of 16 children. She graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1940 and then worked for the OPA during World War II.

She married Leroy “Roy” Crockett on June 2, 1946. They made their home in Wilton, where they raised their three daughters.

After retiring from G.H. Bass in 1987, she volunteered at Franklin Memorial Hospital, spent the summers at her camp at Dummer’s Beach, and traveled to Washington state, Hawaii and Ireland.

She loved her cats and dogs, the birds at her feeders, convertibles, nature, the Miami Dolphins and music – from Yanni to the Rolling Stones. She treasured her family and her circle of dear friends who watched over her during the past few years: Wayne Dimond, Kevin and Cherie Adams, Brian White and Erna White.

She is survived by her three daughters, Christal Ericksen (Ralph) of Port Townsend, Wash., Paula Crockett (Martin Gibbins) of Bellevue, Wash., and Joy Lynn Crockett (Lee Petty) of Naples, Fla.; her grandson, Lonnie White (Cindy); great-granddaughters, Hayley and Erin White, of Lamoine; several brothers and sisters, Donald, Thomas, Patrick, Michael, Allan and Francis Fitzmaurice, Doris Works, Dora Chase and Lillian Mayberry.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1988; her parents; and several brothers and sisters, Ernest, Earl, John and Theresa Fitzmaurice, Marie Jewett and Elaine Neal.
