NORWAY – Bruce Abbott, 63, of North Woodstock, died on Oct. 23, at Stephens Memorial Hospital following an illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Oct. 24, 1941, the son of Windsor and Evelyn (Hollis) Abbott. He was educated in West Paris schools and received his GED from Telstar High School.

He worked hard all his life, working at A.C. Lawrence Leather Co., Penley’s Clothespin Factory and most recently at Hancock Lumber in Bethel as a saw filer.

In his younger days, he was an avid snowmobiler and loved woodworking.

He is survived by his best friend and life partner, Corrine B. Hammond, with whom he shared a home in North Woodstock; two daughters, Belinda LeBroke and her husband, Robert Jr., of West Paris, and Bethany Abbott of Chelsea; one son, Brian Abbott and his wife, Stephanie, of South Paris; two sisters, Gloria Hicks of Oxford, and Cynthia Scott and her husband, Sidney, of West Paris; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Lloyd Abbott.
