LIVERMORE FALLS – Ghosts, goblins, education and prizes will be part of a community Halloween party Saturday.

The SAD 36/Jay Adult Learning Center will also feature a haunted house in the mall at the Chuck Wagon Restaurant block from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, on Main Street in Livermore Falls.

There will be some tricks and treats, and the event will also highlight educational programs offered at the learning center, Director Carrie Castonguay said Tuesday.

Livermore Falls High School drama students will staff the haunted house, she said. Face painting, pumpkin painting and cookie decorating will among the activities.

Jay and Livermore Falls police officers will give talks on Halloween safety, and Jane Brennan, an early literacy specialist from Community Concepts Inc., will read Halloween stories and do activities for the children.

For adults, Sharon Kennedy will be giving free 10-minute shoulder and neck massages.

There will be door prizes, including a 15-speed mountain bike donated for the occasion, Castonguay said.

So far, the windows out front are painted, and the haunted house is shaping up.

“We hope to have it a little spooky,” she said.
