We should all be outraged.
Each day, I travel from Auburn to Portland. Some days I travel the River Road to 295 in Freeport. Other days I travel the Turnpike or Route 100. I’m constantly amazed at how fast people drive. I drive the speed limit, and people fly past me like I’m sitting still. In bad weather with poor visibility, people still drive as if the roads were dry.
A couple of weeks ago, I was listening to the news and heard about an accident on Route 295 where a car went off the highway, crossed the median strip, traveled 500 feet and hit a Lexus headon. I was not surprised. What I was surprised at was that officials didn’t know what caused the accident.
A grandmother was driving the Lexus; she had her 9-year-old grandson with her. She was seriously hurt, and her grandson died.
People don’t think about how their actions affect other people and their lives.
Shouldn’t we all be outraged at such actions that are causing death, pain and shattering people’s lives, forever, just because of someone’s stupidity?
