NASHUA, N.H. (AP) – A New Hampshire Community Technical College student has been accused of getting nursing exams by posing as a professor and communicating with staff via e-mail.
Jean-Claude Pierre, 42, of Salem, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with computer-related offenses and identity theft, Nashua police said.
Last summer, “He evidently created an e-mail account using yahoo.com under the name of a professor there, and contacted the school requesting copies of senior-level final examinations,” Nashua Police Lt. Andrew Lavoie said Friday.
The staffer who sent the tests ended up speaking with the real professor, to make sure the e-mails were received. But the professor had no idea what the staffer was talking about, Lavoie said.
At least one other student knew about the exams, but appeared to have nothing to do with getting them and was contacted by police, Lavoie said.
Detectives have since recovered the exams.
Pierre was scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 28.
