Library speaker

GREENWOOD – Mary Emmons of Bryant Pond will be the guest speaker at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Whitman Memorial Library in Bryant Pond. Emmons will discuss her many years in the ceramics business. The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Bridge winners

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Bridge Club met Oct. 28 at the Fare Share Commons, Main Street, when a four-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Pete Cummings and Dick Allen; second, Marianne Avery and Woody Mercier; third, Marta Clements and Bill Bowman.

Finishing first in Flight B were Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens; second, Wally Fricke and Barbara Vandeerzanden.

Another game will be held at the same time and place Friday, Nov. 4, and all bridge players are welcome. First-time players get free play. For information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153 or cell 754-9153.

There will no game the week of Nov. 10 due to a regional event being held in Portland. The game will resume the following Friday at the usual time and place.
