AUBURN – Colin Britt is musical director for “Broadway Rocks!” being presented by Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 and 13.
Britt is well known in L/A and beyond as a pianist, composer, actor and for his musical directorial skills. His past musical direction for CLT includes “Joseph,” “Annie,” “Scarlet Pimpernel” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
He is also musical director for the upcoming Christmas show by the All-Student Theatre Project, which will benefit the Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Britt is a junior at Hartt School of Music at University of Hartford, Conn., studying music composition and conducting.
“Broadway Rocks!” is a musical revue showcasing more than 30 songs taken from Broadway musicals that have rock and roll music as its core or reflect upon the sound and characteristics of rock and roll.
Directed by Ron Bouffard and Marie Dittmer, the show focuses on how rock and roll and musical theater (both American styles of music) have blended in the past and in the present.
Proceeds will benefit the Eastman Scholarship Fund. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy Street. Complimentary refreshments will be served during intermission.
