POLAND – Robert L. Ryerson Sr., 67, of Poland, died Saturday, Oct. 29, at his home.

He was born at Milton Plantation on May 15, 1938, the son of George Henry and Florence Staples Ryerson.

He attended school in Rumford and had been employed at Etonic shoe shop in Auburn for 20 years. He had also been a lumber truck driver.

He was a member and secretary of Western Maine Street Rods, a member of Downeast Street Rods and several other car clubs. He loved car shows.

He married Beverly Ann Strout on July 2, 1966. He is survived by his wife, of Poland; two sons, Robert Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Lewiston, and Paul Ryerson of Texas; three grandchildren, Paul, Samantha and Devon; a brother, George Henry Ryerson of South Paris; and several nieces and nephews.
