FARMINGTON – Beatrice “Bea” P. Hutchins passed away on Oct. 31, at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center.

She was born in Highland Plantation on Jan. 13, 1918, the daughter of Clement and Lizzie (Howard) Getchell. She lived much of her early life in the Farmington area, was married to Milton “Milt” L. Hutchins in 1935 and was a homemaker devoted to her family.

In 1959, the family moved to Winthrop, where she worked side-by-side with her husband in their Western Auto Store. In their retirement years, Bea and Milt did extensive traveling throughout the United States in their RV. She was widowed in 1992, and in 1998, she moved back to Farmington.

She was a member of the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church and the Irene Luce Philathea Class, as well as the Falls Road Club and the Rebekahs during her years in Farmington. While living in Winthrop, she was a member of Winthrop United Methodist Church, the Hillandalers Snowmobile Club, the Good Sam Camping Club of Augusta and was a past president of the Winthrop Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by her five children, Connie Main, Jeanette Hutchinson and her husband, David, Beverly Lefebvre and her husband, Ted, Marilyn Booker and her husband, Stan, and Milton “Larry” Hutchins, Jr.; her 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Milton L. Hutchins Sr.; a sister, Madeleine Oram; and a brother, Clement “Sonny” Getchell.
