JAY – The St. Rose of Lima Circle 677, Daughters of Isabella, recently held installation of officers to serve for a term of two years.

Officers installed include regent, Jackie Castonguay; vice regent, Laurie Gagnepain; past regent, Rosemary Poulson; financial secretary, Louise Buzzell; treasurer, Louise Chabot; recording secretary, Anita Marchetti; scribe, Pauline Marceau; auditors 1 Pauline Breton, 2 Jeannine Williams, and 3 Shirley Couture; chancellor, Laurianne Castonguay; custodian, Maryette Castonguay.

Also, monitor, Irene Castonguay; banner bearer, Rita Crowley; first guide, Judy Pottle; second guide, Annette Melanson; inner guard, Kim Couture; outer guard, Elaine Castonguay; musician, Louise Parker; chaplain, the Rev. Roger P. Chabot.

Daughters of Isabella’s Maine State Vice Regent Beatrice Dostie and State Secretary Jacqueline (Dostie) Smith of Sanford were present as installing officers.

Dostie expressed thanks to all outgoing officers for their services and thanked all the newly elected officers for serving and for those who continue to serve. She also thanked outgoing regent Rosemary Poulson for the years she served as regent.

Jackie Castonguay expressed her thoughts on becoming regent. She had consulted family and friends and decided “if God had brought her to it, God would get her through it.”

Opening prayer at the meeting was given by circle Chaplain Chabot. Clair Boucher served as Emcee. Helen Hobbs served as marshal and Louise Parker as musician. The head table was set with a maroon cloth and flower arrangement of yellow, white and red Daughters of Isabella colors.

Following the meeting, coffee and cake was served by Laurie Gagnepain, who made and decorated the cake in Daughters of Isabella colors.

The next circle meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at St. Rose Hall. There will be a workshop on Friday, Nov. 11 in Augusta.
