PORTLAND – On Thursday, Nov. 10, the Maine Satellite Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association of New England will present a panel discussion on the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005.

A panel of experts will lead an informative discussion of significant changes to the business provisions of the Bankruptcy Code, including how these changes affect the leverage of various constituencies in a case, how they increase the overall cost of running a case, and whether they alter the likelihood that Chapter 11 can be used to preserve going-concern value.

The discussion will be moderated by James C. Ebbert, CTP, McShane Group Inc., and the panel members are Judge Jim Haines, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Maine, lawyer Robert J. Keach of Bernstein Shur, and lawyer Roger A. Clement Jr. of Verrill Dana, LLP.

The program will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Portland. Breakfast and networking will begin at 8 a.m. The panel session will run from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. with questions invited during the discussions.
