LOWELL, Mass. (AP) – A former teacher at a Westford middle school was arraigned in Superior Court Tuesday in the rape of a 14-year-old male student.
Susan Clickner, 47, of Groton, pleaded not guilty to a charge of statutory rape of a child. Prosecutors allege she had sexual intercourse with the boy in her car on April 8.
The boy told his mother about the incident in July, and his family reported it to Westford police. Clickner was fired from her job as a teacher at the Blanchard Middle School in Westford.
Clickner has been out on bail since her arraignment in Ayer District Court in September.
In Superior Court Tuesday, Judge Jeffrey Locke continued the same $5,000 bail and ordered her to have no contact with the alleged victim, now 15, or any of the witnesses in the case. She was also ordered to have no contact with any children under 16 except her own children.
Clickner is due back in Superior Court Nov. 30 for a pretrial conference.
