YARMOUTH – Yvonne F. Ruel, 99, formerly of Lewiston, died Monday, Oct. 31, at Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Yarmouth, following a short illness.

She was born in Manchester, N.H., on May 6, 1906, the daughter of Jean Baptiste and Alida (Archambault) Lemay. She grew up in Brunswick until the age of 15, then moved to Lewiston.

She married Arthur Ruel on Feb. 16, 1926; he died on Sept. 13, 1983.

She was employed all her life in the textile industry, working at the Continental and Bates mills, retiring in 1968.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Lewiston Senior Citizens and Covenant 50. She enjoyed playing cards, beano and long car rides, and looked forward to family outings. She also enjoyed dining out, with her favorite foods being seafood, red-skinned hot dogs and beans.

She is survived by three daughters, Doris Taylor and her husband, Frank, of St. Charles, Mo., Constance Weston and her husband, Richard, of Litchfield, and Nancy Seguin and her husband, Albert, of Auburn; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Maurice and Richard Ruel; and by two sisters, Rose Collins and Imelda Ouellette.
