AUGUSTA – Beverly G. McGary, 79, of Ganneston Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

She was born in Yarmouth, Mass., on Oct. 31, 1926, the daughter of J. Arthur and Madeline (Morton) Green. She graduated from Farmington High School, Class of 1944, and attended the University of Maine in both Orono and Farmington.

She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Kennebec Valley Garden Club, where she held several offices and also the Maine State Garden Club. She was active in community affairs and fund-raisers. She took pride in her home and enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Nichols and her husband, Wayne, of Cross Lake; two sons, Alan D. McGary and his wife, Debra, of Manchester, and C. Scott McGary of Auburn; three brothers, Don L. Green and his wife, Beula, of Brunswick, Richard Green and his wife, Betty, of Topsham, and Joe Green and his wife, Arlette, of Brooksville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Stephanie McGary, Jessica McGary, Cameron McGary, Benton McGary and Colby Brann; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton D. McGary, on Dec. 29.
