Nurses to meet
LEWISTON – The Central Maine General Hospital – Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association will meet Thursday, Nov. 10, at the School of Nursing, 70 Middle St. A potluck supper will start at 6 p.m. and a business meeting will follow. Theater tickets
TURNER – The Leavitt Area High School Thespians will sell tickets for their upcoming play, “A Christmas Story,” at the annual craft fair on Friday, Nov. 11, at the high school. The Santa Claus from the play will be present with his elves.
DAR meeting
BOWDOIN – Regent Sheila Desgrosseillier announces that Burnt Meadow Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the home of Joanne Coombs. Following the business meeting, Corley Anne Byras will do a program on “Grannie’s Remedies.”
80th birthday
AUBURN – Ted Lambert celebrated his 80th birthday with friends and family at Martindale Country Club on Oct 25. It was a festive occasion done in the form of a roast.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 1 were: first, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; second, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; third, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; fourth, Betty and Doug Sise; second in B, Alberta Turner and Lue Bilodeau.
Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Nov. 2 were: first, Patricia and Mike Quinn; second, Mary Leahey and Anna Vitiello; third, Tom Dahlberg and David Wallace; first in C, Betty and Doug Sise.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for information about all bridge games.
No game will be played on Wednesday, Nov. 9, as there is a Regional Bridge Tournament being held Wednesday through Sunday at the Sheraton in South Portland.
