LEWISTON – Clarabelle M. Foley, 77, passed away on November 2, 2005.

She was born in Lewiston on March 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Smith. She attended Auburn schools and went on to become a certified nurse’s assistant. She worked for many years at the MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit.

She was a member of the Court Street Baptist church in Auburn until she moved to Fairfield in 1950, and then became a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Her great joys in life were animals, playing bingo and knitting. She also loved spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Francis R. Foley, in 1971; they married in 1950. Also predeceasing her were her parents, and two brothers, Clarence and Wallace.

Surviving are her children, Frances Dodge, Patricia Loubier, Franklin Foley and Shirley Foley; a stepson, Allen Foley; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Pearl Sirois, Ida Caron, Christine Brooks and Caroline Demers; as well as many nieces and nephews.
