LEWISTON – Delice I. Mathieu, 89, formerly of 109 Summit Ave., died peacefully with her daughter and son-in-law at her side, on Wednesday, Nov, 2, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston on June 7, 1916, a daughter of Eusebe and Lauza Samson Rioux, she was educated in Lewiston schools.

She was married to L. Vincent Mathieu on Sept. 1, 1941. He died Dec. 1, 1969.

She was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Cercle du Ste. Sacrement, Holy Cross Senior Citizens and Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She worked at Philip Elmet Corp. for 43 years and Holy Cross School cafeteria for nine years.

She is survived by a daughter, Claire Morin and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston; a son-in-law, Roger Blouin and his wife, Lorraine, of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Paul and Denise Morin, John Morin, Kevin and Michelle Fraser; her great-grandchildren, Lee and Kim Morin, Griffin, Emily and Avery Fraser.

She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Lorraine Blouin, in 1974; and her sisters, Cecile Beaulieu and Therese Rioux.
