LISBON – The Lisbon Rotary Club will sponsor its 19th annual Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, at the high school cafeteria. Everyone is welcome.

The dinner, which was launched in 1986, is intended for anyone who would like to be with others for a Thanksgiving meal, regardless of income. A success the first year, it has grown each year since and is the Lisbon Rotary Club’s biggest project of the year.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, with hors d’oeuvres and entertainment provided by Dick Waters and his band, Just Friends.

Dinner will be served at noon and everyone attending will be presented a boutonniere. Guests can also register for a door prize, a fruit basket and other “goodies.”

Centerpieces will be handmade by Clair Mitchell of Brunswick and will be given away after dinner by random drawings.

To assist in planning, call Dick Gould at 725-1826 or Ora Madden at the Lisbon Town Office, 353-3000, ext. 107. Anyone who needs transportation to the high school or a home delivery can also call one of the numbers listed above.

Chef for the day will be Nancy Couture, an instructor at the Culinary Art Program at Central Maine Community College, Auburn. Some of her students and former students will assist.

Lisbon High School students, members of the Rotary Interact Club and Lisbon Boy Scouts will help with the preparations and serving. Rotary President John Poulin and students of the Interact Club will be the official greeters for the day.

Homemade pies are needed. Anyone wishing to donate a pie or pies, call Dick Gould at 725-1826.
