Imagine for a minute that someone tried to remodel the game of baseball. You might have three bases and six players on a team. Three balls could be a walk; four strikes could be an out. The game could be limited to an hour’s playing time. You could still call it baseball. The kids might still have fun, but the old folks would never buy it.
Something like that is true of marriage. You can change the rules and change the names. You can still call it marriage. The kids will still have fun. The old folks will never buy it.
Marriage is not a game.
Harold L. Allen, Topsham
