KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – Sharron Sieleman, vice president for nursing at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, was named one of Advance for Nurses newsmagazine’s 2005 Best Nurse Leaders for the New England region.

She was particularly noted for her strong commitment to nursing.

Nurses from across New England nominated their nurse managers, directors of nursing, nursing supervisors, unit leaders, charge nurses and more. A panel of three judges from outside the region evaluated the entries by awarding scores on: how the manager made a difference in patient outcomes, interpersonal relationships, professional development, effectiveness and efficiency of the unit, making a difference in the overall work environment and any other qualities.

Sieleman is featured in the Oct. 24 issue. She will be presented with a framed certificate commemorating her win as Best Nurse Leader in the Commitment to Nursing category, as well as receive a special gift.
