CHICAGO – The Boston Bruins have traded forward Andy Hilbert to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Chicago’s fifth-round pick in the 2006 entry draft.

The 5-foot-11, 194-pound Hilbert was Boston’s second round pick in the 2000 draft out of the University of Michigan.

Last season for Providence in the American Hockey League, Hilbert appeared in 79 games, scoring 37 goals and 42 assists. In 17 playoff games for Providence, he posted 21 points on seven goals and 14 assists.

Hilbert appeared in 38 NHL games with the Bruins, scoring three goals and three assists.

A restricted free agent, Hilbert hasn’t played this season.
