• A moose was killed after being struck by two vehicles, but neither driver was injured in the accident at 5 p.m. Nov. 3 on Route 142. Edwin L. Pulk, 53, of Townline Drive, Carthage, was traveling south in a 1998 Ford van when a moose attempted to cross the road. The impact knocked the moose into the northbound lane, where Florence Noyes, 77, of Goodwin Road, Carthage, struck it with her 1995 Buick sedan. Pulk’s van sustained $1,500 damage. Noyes’ sedan sustained $500 damage. None of the three passengers in Pulk’s van were injured.
