RUMFORD – A four-car crash Sunday on Route 2 by The Madison Inn and Restaurant sent four people to Rumford Hospital. A nursing supervisor contacted Tuesday night said all four were treated and released.

The injured included Kenneth Ewing, 31, of Exeter; Elizabeth Ladd, 46, of Andover; Ursel Kampmann, 62, of Ottawa; and Barbara Butler, 66, of Hanover.

Sgt. Tracy Higley said Tuesday night that a police report on the accident has yet to be filed.

Reading from a partially completed report by lead investigator Paul Casey, Higley said Ewing was driving east in a Chevrolet pickup when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with Ladd’s Honda.

Casey wrote that Ewing then struck Kampmann’s Ford van. Butler then collided with Ladd’s car, Higley said.

Three vehicles were listed as totaled, but it was not known which three.
