RUMFORD – Pennacook Art Center will present a film, “Laurels,” by Toni Seger of Lovell, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the center, 82 Congress St.

The film was inspired by Timothy Richardson’s poetic work “Laurels (A Crown of Sonnets).” A “Crown” is created from a sequence of seven Italian-style sonnets whose theme weaves a crown of praise for its subject.

The sonnets are linked because the last line of each sonnet is the first line of the next and the last line of the series is also the first line which completes the crown.

“Laurels” has been broadcast on public access television in several states and is now available to the public in DVD format.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. FMI: call 364-9972.
