BETHEL – Jasmine Webber converted a pass from Tiffany Bichrest in overtime to lift Hebron to a 4-3 victory over Gould, earning it the 2005 MAISAD Field Hockey Championship on Wednesday.

Gould set the pace in the early going, scoring its first goal in the first minute of play. Gould scored again at the 8:00 mark and took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. The Hebron girls’ displayed a renewed energy in the second half. Webber found the net just 47 seconds into the period, while Bichrest followed with the tying goal just five minutes later.

With only eight minutes remaining in the game, Maddy Campbell found the net to put Hebron up by one. In a truly remarkable finish, Gould scored off a penalty corner with only one second remaining to force the overtime period.

Gould won the pass-back and moved the ball quickly down field. Kayla Chadwick cleared the ball from Hebron’s defensive zone, and they transitioned the ball up the field. There was a flurry of activity in Hebron’s offensive circle as the Gould goalie came out to make a play on Bichrest, who had the ball. Bichrest made a flat pass to Webber who made a terrific shot to seal the win.
