WILTON – Flu shots will be available on the Healthy Community Coalition’s Mobile Health Unit in several area towns. Starting Monday, Nov. 14, and continuing through Wednesday, Nov. 30, the mobile health unit will park in a public place and administer the influenza vaccine.
Typical flu symptoms include fever, dry cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches and extreme fatigue. The best time to be vaccinated is October and November. However, vaccination in December or later can still be beneficial.
Due to the cost of the vaccine, there is a suggested donation of $15. The flu shot can be provided free if needed or a donation of what a person can afford. Insurance, Medicare or Medicaid cannot be accepted.
Flu shots will be provided to those 18 and older. Those under 18 should see their primary care medical provider.
