WILTON – Dorothy L. Hart, 79, of Wilton, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Sandy River Center for Health Care in Farmington.

She was born March 13, 1926, in Augusta, a daughter of the late John and Carrie BethSheba (Chase) Grimshaw. Dorothy graduated from Cony High School in Augusta.

She married Byron R. Hart in Augusta.

She worked as a waitress at the Villa Restaurant in Augusta and also as a bartender at the Amvets in Jay.

She was a lifetime member of Amvets Women’s Auxiliary Post 333 in Jay, a member of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Farmington, and past president of Women’s M.O.C.A. Auxiliary of Maine VFW. She also did volunteer work at the Franklin Memorial Hospital gift shop.

She enjoyed shopping trips to North Conway, N.H., with Bernie, and was also an avid Beanie Baby shopper for all.

She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca E. Pepin and her husband, Mark R., of Lewiston; two sons, Wayne R. Hart and his wife, Shirley, of Cadiz, Ky., and Dwight N. Hart of Waterville; her companion of 20 years, Bernard A. Roy of Wilton; two sisters, Jane Cunningham and her husband, Damon, of Hallowell, and Marjorie Dennett of Augusta; and three grandsons.

She was predeceased by her husband, Byron R. Hart, on June 11, 1983; two brothers and three sisters.
