LEWISTON – Seating will be first-come, first-served at a sold-out Trey Anastasio concert on the Bates College campus tonight.
College officials are expecting things to run smoothly as nearly 2,000 fans gather to see the former frontman of the defunct jam band, Phish.
On Friday, Assistant Dean of Students Keith Tannenbaum was helping set the stage for the show in the Gray Gymnasium. He said he expects the line to form early. The school does not sell tickets for specific seats.
However, said Tannenbaum, “there’s almost nowhere inside here that you’re not going to have a really good view of the stage.”
It took just over a month for tickets to the show to sell out.
The doors are expected to open at 6:30 p.m., according to the Trey Anastasio Web site, www.treyanastasio.com. The show is expected to begin at 7:30 p.m., with the band Tea Leaf Green opening.
Tannenbaum said there should be plenty of parking around the neighborhood.
