PORTLAND – Sarah M. Radcliff, 81, of Poland, died Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Barren Center. She had been a resident on the Munjoy Unit for several years and had received loving care from the nurses working at the Barren Center.
She was born in Mechanic Falls on Feb. 13, 1924, the daughter of Javez and Elmira Small Coffin. She attended school in Mechanic Falls.
She married Thomas Radcliff on April 16, 1941, and he predeceased her in 1997. Sarah had been a housewife and mother through most of her years, working various jobs along the way. She had worked at such places as the Yarmouth Fish Factory, Hillcrest Poultry in Lewiston, and also the Bates Mill in Lewiston.
She loved to go dancing, and was talented in crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Radcliff Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Hartford; three daughters, Bernice “Helen” Page and her husband, Dale, of Poland, Sarah Harmon and her husband, Joe, of Limerick, and Mary Larrabee of Lewiston; a sister, Eva Culleton of South Paris; and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Jordan; and a brother, Donald Coffin.
