PORTLAND – James Delamater, president and CEO of Northeast Bank, and Kevin Mattson, president of Harper’s Development, have been elected as new directors of the Maine Real Estate and Development Association board.
Delamater has served as the leader of Northeast Bank and all related companies since 1981. He is also a past chairman of both the Maine Bankers Association and the Maine Association of Community Bankers. Long active in civic and community organizations, Delamater is a member of the loan committee for the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments and serves on the Oxford Hills Growth Council Board of Directors. He is also a published author, recently releasing “The Great American Mismatch.”
Born in Lewiston, he graduated from Oxford Hills High School and received a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy from the state of Maine. He served in the Air Force, and then attended the University of South Carolina and University of Southern Maine.
Mattson oversees the day-to-day management of the company. Since 1997, he has led Harper’s Development efforts to acquire its current portfolio of properties, which is in excess of 1 million square feet. He previously was chief of staff to the majority leader of the Maine House of Representatives, and executive director of the Maine Democratic Party. He is a graduate of Skidmore College and received an MBA from the University of Maine.
MREDA is an organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers, whose mission is to promote an environment for responsible development and ownership of real estate throughout the state.
