CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – New Hampshire is holding millions of dollars and thousands of shares of stock waiting to be claimed by the rightful, and possibly, forgetful owners.
Brian Regan, director of the state’s Abandoned Property Division, says the state is holding nearly $8 million in lost or forgotten money and more than 300,000 shares of stock. The stock comes from life insurance policies in insurance companies that have become stock companies.
The list will be published later this month, but the treasurer’s office says current and former residents also can check the list at its Web site: www.nh.gov/treasury.
