LIVERMORE FALLS – More than 100 items will be auctioned off Saturday to raise money for scholarships, clock restoration and coats for children in the tri-town area.

The Jay-Livermore Falls Rotary Club has collected a wide array of goods that range from a white-water rafting trip for two and a two-night stay at a Wilton motel to gift certificates to various restaurants and a flower pass from Gnome Gardens in Jay, which is good for six bouquets.

The second annual auction is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Livermore Falls High School cafeteria. Preview of items begins at 6:30 p.m.

“Last year’s auction was very, very successful,” Wright said, “and we’re looking forward to an even more successful auction this year.”

Club members plan to give out two $500 scholarships this year to seniors at Jay High School and Livermore Falls High School, auction Chairman Rod Wright said Monday.

They also plan to use some of the money raised to help Livermore Falls officials restore the town’s clock that’s in a tower atop the bank building. Rotary has been raising money to both fix and maintain the nearly 100-year-old clock.

The organization also plans to use some of the money for its Spirit of the Season Tree fund-raiser, which raises money to buy coats for kids in the area.

The Rotary was able to give out pictures of children with Santa at no cost last year, Wright said.

The Rotary will light up the Christmas tree following a parade down Main Street in Jay and Livermore Falls at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Union Park in Livermore Falls.
