AUBURN – Harriman Associates, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, has added two engineers to its mechanical engineering staff.

David B. Reinheimer, P.E., has been hired as senior mechanical engineer. He has more than 25 years of technical and managerial experience in heating, ventilating and air conditioning design.

At Harriman, Reinheimer designs HVAC systems for educational, health-care, commercial and industrial projects. He is currently a member of a design team working on the renovation of Southern Maine Community College’s Hildreth Hall. Previously, he was a senior mechanical engineer at engineering firms in Portland and Freeport. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia. Reinheimer is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

He lives in Bowdoinham with his wife, Susie, and their son Rob.

Also joining the firm is Norman Varney as a testing and balancing technician on the commissioning team. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the controls industry. Currently, he’s working on commissioning projects at Bowdoin College Coffin Street dorms, Scarborough High School and Auburn Public Library.

Prior to joining Harriman, Varney was a project coordinator at Maine Controls. He attended Southern Maine Community College and was a student in the computer science program at the University of Maine at Orono.

Varney lives in Portland with his wife, Gretel, and their daughter Sarah.
