We wish to commend Cynthia Handlen on her excellent article of Nov. 10, regarding three proposed projects of the Mahoosuc Land Trust. Handlen’s report was accurate, thorough and eminently readable.
The Mahoosuc Land Trust has been in existence for nearly 20 years and has managed to preserve a number of key properties, as well as create a canoe trail along the Androscoggin River from New Hampshire to Rumford. It is gratifying to have these accomplishments noted and publicized.
We would also like to thank all those who voted yes on the recent bond issue, which will provide further funds for Land for Maine’s Future. This fund has been key in helping the Land Trust and other entities to acquire properties and easements throughout the state.
