LEWISTON – A dance to benefit burn victim Kenneth Daigle Jr. of Lisbon will be held from 6:30 p.m. Saturday to 12:30 a.m. Sunday at C&J Hall.

Since Daigle was burned Oct. 30 when his sheep costume caught fire, he and his family have been impressed by how the community has rallied to help, said his mother, June Daigle.

Last Saturday’s benefit spaghetti buffet attracted a good turnout. And on Thursday when Mrs. Daigle and her husband shopped for a recliner her son will need when he leaves the hospital, the store insisted on donating the chair. “I was so touched. I didn’t expect that,” Mrs. Daigle said.

Since Daigle suffered serious burns last month, he’s been hospitalized at the Maine Medical Center and has undergone multiple skin graft surgeries. He had another surgery on Friday. Daigle does not have health insurance.

The C&J Hall is on Webster Street. A mix of oldies and contemporary music will be played by DJ Jerry “Sahge” Grant, who is volunteering his time.

Donations will be accepted at the door, Mrs. Daigle said.
