LEWISTON – Joanne C. Asselin, 57, of Spring Street, Lewiston, died Thursday Nov. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 4, 1948, in Lisbon Falls, the daughter of Stanley and Clara (Pulk) Parker, she was educated in local schools.
For many years, she worked for High Street Nursing Home as a medical technician. On Nov. 2, 1991, Joanne married William R. Asselin.
She enjoyed playing beano and cards and listening to old music, and she loved to spend time with her family. Joanne was known for her green thumb and loved to grow all sorts of flowers.
She leaves her husband of 14 years, William; her mother, Clara Parker of Sabattus; four daughters, Debbie Dubois of Lewiston, Louise Salley and her husband, Virgil, of Livermore, Gerry Laliberte and her husband, Andre, of Lewiston, and Peggy Dupont of Poland; seven sisters, Susan Collins and her companion, Paul Parent, of Lewiston, Stella Lapoint of Lewiston, Linda Hunt of Hebron, Stanlene Scott and her husband, Robert, of Sabattus, Janice Lafrance and her husband, Leo, of Auburn, Lois Crowley and her husband, Michael, of Mechanic Falls, and Rita Hall and her husband, Wendell, of Milo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Marie Ridlon; and her father, Stanley Parker.
