AVON – Selectmen remind residents that the winter parking ban is now in effect.

It is illegal to park along roads and designated turnarounds, impeding traffic. Vehicles so parked can be subject to towing at the owner’s expense, a selectman said.

Anyone with an article for the annual town meeting warrant next March must present it to the town office by Dec. 31.

The brick archway made and donated by Steve Mitchell’s class at The Maine School of Masonry has been completed. This is the first archway constructed by the first class of Avon’s School of Masonry and now stands near the entrance to Avon’s first town garage.

A sign for the Avon building has been donated by Dave and Vicki Stinchfield of Avon. They also donated the lettering for the Pease Cemetery.
