AUBURN – Kellie DeMers joins the Auburn Public Library as its new development director in charge of raising private and corporate funds annually to support the library’s collections, services and facility.
DeMers has several years of development and marketing experience and comes to APL from the University of New England having worked in its university relations office. DeMers, an avid reader and library supporter in the town of Gray, said she believes in the valuable contribution that a vibrant library can make to the economic and cultural landscape of a community.
She also said she understands the key role that philanthrophy plays in providing the financial security that gives a public library the ability, over and above tax dollars, to provide the quality of collections and services that Auburn needs and expects.
DeMers will be building on the library’s capital campaign in November when she helps to launch the library’s second annual appeal headed by Tonie Ramsey, 2005 APL Fund chairperson. For more information about APL’s development program, phone 782-3191, extension 5 or e-mail: [email protected].
