PARIS – The Oxford Hills Education Exchange has announced the November Students of the Month at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Students named were Sabrina Whiteley, freshman; Anthony St. Ours, sophomore; Charley Cray, junior; and Kami Toothaker, senior. This year begins the sixth year of the Rotary Club’s sponsorship of the program.
Each month, the High school staff members nominate students who they feel have “made a difference in their classroom.” The goal of the program is to reward teamwork, positive behavior, extra effort and good student citizenship.
The program is coordinated through the Oxford Hills Community Education Exchange and is part of the character education curriculum at the high school. The nomination form lists character traits from which to choose when nominating students and explaining why that student exhibits those traits.
The November students were praised for their positive influence on their classmates by showing respect, honesty, generosity, integrity compassion and leadership.
The students’ names and photos are placed on a plaque that hangs in the hallway across from the school library. In addition, each month the students have pizza with the principal and on Wednesday, Nov. 23, they will be honored at a Rotary breakfast.
